# Cala Tortuga

Cala Tortuga is in Maó on Menorca’s north coast. The catalogue lists golden sand, an approximate length of 200 metres and a walk of about 35 minutes from the nearest parking area or bus stop.

An unspoilt beach of sand and dunes inside S’Albufera des Grau natural park, near the Favàritx lighthouse.

## Getting there

In summer (recently 1 June–30 September) private cars cannot drive to Favàritx: take bus L43 from Maó, cycle or walk. Out of season there is limited parking near the lighthouse road. From there it is a flat walk on the Camí de Cavalls, about 1 km beyond Cala Presili.

Guides list no bar or restaurant within walking distance. Bring water, food and shade.

Restaurants and opening hours change by season; check before you go.

## Good to know

- No toilets, lifeguard, food or drink. Phone coverage is poor.
- Exposed to the north and east; best on calm days.
